Kitab Amulet Necklace

Five beautiful antique Kitab amulet pendants from Morocco are the stars of this statement necklace and combined with an assortment of old tribal coins, vintage Moroccan silver beads and tiny brass heishi spacers from Africa. Heavy sterling silver clasp handmade in Sri Lanka.

I've named this tribal statement necklace "Subhandra", a Hindu Goddess whose name means very splendid.  And what a splendid necklace this is!

The word Kitab is an Arabic word which means “book”, and these silver and brass box pendants usually contained verses from the Koran and were worn as protective amulets in traditional Moroccan jewelry and objects of adornment.

Finished length is 18" with a 4" sterling silver extender chain that lets you adjust the length for different looks - see photos for styling ideas.

The center kitab pendant measures approximately 1.25" wide x 1.5" tall (35mm wide x 40mm).

Sure to make an impact on any outfit, this tribal-inspired necklace is one of a kind.
